2nd edition of “China Insight” at Bif&st 2019 organized by Apulia Film Commission in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute of Shanghai (Bari, 29 April and 2 May 2019)

Apulia Film Commission, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute of Shanghai, organized the second edition of “China Insight”, a forum on the Chinese film industry and Italy-China collaborations, in the course of the 10^th Bari International Film Festival. Sinoglobal Investments Advisory supported AFC in the planning and organization of the event.

The event saw the participation of a delegation of the Hengdian Group – Chinese leading company in the entertainment industry – represented by Mr. Yin Xu, vice-president of the Group and chairman of the organizing committee of the Hengdian Film and TV Festival of China, Ms. Xu Xiaoqin, deputy general manager of Hengdian World Studios, one of the world’s largest movie bases (also known as “Chinawood”) owned by the Hengdian Group, and Mr. Airaldo Piva, president of the European branch of the Hengdian Group. During the event a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Hengdian Film and TV Festival of China and the Apulia Cinefestival Network produced by AFC.

The forum included two conferences, on April 29th and May 2nd: the first one was an overview on Chinese cinema and different representations of China, also with the participation of Chinese film director Zhu Xiaoling; the second one focused on the new relationship between cinema and tourism, through the experience of the Hengdian World Studios, and related opportunities for Italy with regards to the Chinese market.
